info from Monte Heart I recently also came up with the following: "James Couch - 450 acres on the waters of the Enoree - Tuesday 1 March 1768, under a category of :Petitions for Warrants of survey; to prolong warrants and to certify plats. Source: Citizens and Immigrants - South Carolina - 1768. Also in this same book was the following entry: Berkeley Co., S.C.: 28 April 1768 - Michael Waldrop - 150 acres. Berkeley County was the old pre-revolution Royal County that covered the area where our families were located. I have not had time to track these entries down yet.

Bragg for ??? sold two tracts of land; 200 and 76 acres; bounded by :North side Enoree River, Joining lands of Ephraim Campbell and Jesse Couch. Book y, page 125: Deed of Conveyance: 20 Jan. 1843: Jesse Campbell (Aka) Jesse Couch To Z. D. Bragg, for ?? sold 121 acres. bounded by: S - Enoree River, W/E - Couch's Land, N - Archibold Lynch, and E - James Couch. Wit: Davis Newman and Jesse Couch. NOTE: Ephraim Campbell Mentioned above was a son of William Campbell and we know William Campbell and Benjamin Couch had land next to each other. Chaney Couch in Greene Co. Arkansas 1870 Census --------------- Chaney and Augustus bought the Old Couch Place North West of Pinelog 25 Dec 1870 from a Slatton. In 1878 it went back to the state for taxes. After about 10 years Augustus got it back and it was in the Couch Family until 1963 when William T. Couch died. This was in Craighed Co. Arkansas
